A Little Bit About Myself
Hello, I am excited to be a part of your child's learning and would like to tell you a little about myself.
This is my fourth year here at West Platte. I have been teaching for 17 years and have taught grades ranging from third to eighth. Teaching reading has always been a passion of mine, and when the opportunity presented itself to teach Reading 180, I jumped on it. Besides teaching, I also coach our high school girls basketball team. During my free time, I love to read books and watch my sons play the sport of the season.
Our family has become very fond of West Platte just in the three years that we have been here. My husband Tanner teaches in the high school and coaches as well. We have two sons, Ty and Logan, who have met many wonderful friends and role models here in Weston. Our experience with West Platte Elementary has been a very positive one, and I hope to make the experience of READ 180 a positive one for my students as well.
From my years of experience, I have come to believe that every student learns differently, and I believe that confidence can affect learning. As a teacher, I try hard to meet the needs of all my students because I truly care about them as people. I am always open and willing to talk to parents about any concerns. Learning should be a positive experience, so let's work together to make that happen.

I am participating in the eMints program to help enrich student learning. EMints helps teachers create quality learning in their classrooms by incorporating cooperative learning that is technology based. Through inquiry, students take ownership of their learning, and the teacher facilitates students through this learning experience.
