Q. Why has my child been selected to participate in Read 180?
A. Using data from Acuity and the Star testing, I consult with your student's classroom teacher, and we decide if that student would benefit in the Read 180 program.
Q. When will my child go to Read 180?
A. Student in Read 180 spend their entire 90 minute block of reading and writing in the Read 180 classroom. This 90 minute block matches the classroom teachers 90 minute block of language arts, so students will not miss out on other important subjects.
Q. Will my child have homework in Read 180?
A. Yes. Students are required to spend time reading independently at home. It is important that they are reading books at their level. I have attached a link with questions parents can use to discuss books with their child along with the timesheet students use to track their reading minutes.
